Football has begun!

Hi y'all. Okay, when you live below the Mason Dixon line you eat, sleep, and breathe football. Jack had his football evaluations tonight. If you weigh 95lbs then you're on the line. Jack is a bit scared of "being on the line" but Grandpa AL gave him so good pointers before heading back to Rocky. Anyway, back to Jack's evals. Rick took him over to the ball park where they were being held. This was the 2nd date for evals, he couldn't make the first one. there were 200 boys there. Jack weighed 91 lbs. That's good, even though he might be on the line, he doesn't weigh 95lbs so its not an automatic thing. Whoosh! He wanted to go on a diet last week just so he wouldn't have to be automatically put there. He ran a good 40yd dash ( Jack isn't the fastest kid out there but Rick said he did really well. We sort of hold our breath when he steals a base in baseball ;)) He tackled the dummy awesome and caught 1 out of 3 passes. He usually catches really well but who knows what happened. It never fails, when Jack goes to evals whether its football or baseball, he never performs as good as he really is. Rick said he threw really well too. So, we made it through our first Football experience. I'm not sure I'm ready for all of this. I'm hoping I can talk him into getting a nice buzz cut for football as it will be so nice and cool. He isn't buying it. He was lifting weights on Sunday, getting ready for today. Maybe it helped.
