Hi. Wow, look at this, two posts with in 24 hours. It is chilly this morning, brrrr. Sun is out though and I love that.Hopefully, it will warm up enough that we can go outside and play today. The kids don't get cold b/c they're running all around but I'm going to wear my longer coat so my tush stays warm. I love this time of year at the play school. We have so much to do and it usually involves painting hands and fingers so we can make cute Christmas tree and snowman keepsakes for moms and dads. The Christmas music is on and there is never a lack of stories to read. My favorite time of year by far at the playschool.

I'm off to the store before work. Mabye, I 'll even write more later.

Bye.

ps Valerie, your house is going to look awesome! :)

Monday, December 1, 2008

Hi! I'm back at least for right now. I cannot believe how fast time has gone. Wow, lots of change is going on. A new president, it is almost snowing, it is Christmas time. I'm trying to keep up with everything but it is hard. Football is still going on down here in Hoover. We will be cheering for the Bucs on Sat. How awesome it is that this team is once again in the state finals. They really did come together so great throughout the season. I'm trying to count how many boys have come in our lives since the beginning of football. lol. I know that even if the Bucs don't win on Sat, this side of Hoover will sure be proud of coach Niblett and his team!

Okay, so there is only like 2.5 weeks left of school before Christmas break and there is a lot to do at preschool. We have to do our cute Christmas tree sweat shirts and make the gifts for the parents. Ugh! I love doing it but it just gets crazy which is actually sort of fun. I bought several new books at the elementary book fair last week and I'm excited to read them to my class. :)

I'm in the midst of trying to clean my house and paint pottery and some things on canvas and fire all the ornaments for the play school. HELP!

Oh the media! Annoying

Is Joe's record of having been wrong on Vietnam, wrong in the Cold War, wrong on the Iraq war, less important than whether Sarah Palin tried to get fired a rogue-cop brother-in-law who Tasered her 10-year-old nephew to "teach him a lesson"?

"I've forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know," says Joe humbly. Given his record, it is understandable Joe has forgotten so much of it.

Saturday, the New York Times did a takeout on Cindy McCain that delved back into her problem with prescription pills. Yet when Hillary's campaign manager, Mark Penn, brought up Obama's cocaine use on "Hardball," he was savaged by folks for whom the Times is the gold standard.

The people apparently had a "right to know" of Bush's old DUI arrest a week before the 2000 election, but no right to know about how and when Obama was engaged in the criminal use of cocaine.

The media cannot get enough of the "Saturday Night Live" impersonations of Palin as a bubblehead. News shows pick up the Tina Fey clips and run them and run them to the merriment of all.

Can one imagine "Saturday Night Live" doing weekly send-ups of Michelle Obama and her "I've never been proud" of my country, this "just downright mean" America, using a black comedienne to mimic and mock her voice and accent?

"Saturday Night Live" would be facing hate-crime charges.

How do we know? When the New Yorker ran a cartoon of Michelle in an Angela-Davis afro with an AK-47 slung over her shoulder, New Yorker editors had to go on national television to swear they were not mocking Michelle, but the conservatives who have so caricatured Michelle and the Messiah.

Is there a media double standard? You betcha.
Hi! It's Friday, my favorite day of the week. Let's see. I'm very excited to get my hair highlighted this morning. Yay! I'm going to a new girl today. I love my girl at the other salon but I'm just tired of having it be such a big deal to get my hair done. The other salon is just too far and the new one is right in Hoover! yay! I will let you know how it turns out. I know it's going to be great. I'm also very excited to start working on the really fun cross ornaments. I received a shipment yesterday but I was too busy to sit and paint. My office is all straightend up so I can just go up there and paint paint paint! We are supposed to go to the Hoover game tonight, it is the last home game. I hope it doesn't rain. I think it is going to be chilly though, so I'm for sure packing blankets! brrrr. Joe had his last season game last night and it was very chilly. Made me think that tonight, I better be prepared.

Kate was filling out her law academy forms this morning. The law academy kids are going to Montgomery for a challenge of some sort in Nov. It is a weekend deal and she is very excited about it. I think she is really learning a lot being a part of this group. yesterday they were late getting out b/c she was one of the last to do the cross examination. she said she really needs to study the big words they use. haha. I think there are only a few freshman in the group so most of the kids have done this before. She is mostly excited to go shopping and pick out some new fun dresses to wear to the challenge. They will be at the court house challenging other law academy kids from different schools. pretty cool.

I just have to make a little note about the violence the election is causing. It is so disturbing to read that people are being hurt b/c of what candidate they support. That is really sad. I always find it interesting that the ones causing the pain and such are the democrats. It just isn't necessary.

New Ornaments!
Hello. Wednesday night here and this is our night when we don't have anything going on. It is so nice and relaxing. I started cleaning my office out today. I am working on Christmas ornaments and such and I have to have a clean space to think and work.

Had a fun day in the baby room. I love our babies in there, they are so sweet!

The weather this week has been so pretty. I think it is supposed to rain at the end of week which is sad b/c the last Hoover home game is Friday. Maybe the rain will stay away.

I'm posting some pictures of Christmas ornaments I've listed on my etsy site. :)

Monday, October 20, 2008

Hi! OOohhh, its Monday and I really really want to crawl back in bed b/c it is a chilly Monday morning but I can't because I have to be in the baby room today which is always fun. All three kids are off to school Rick is in the woods trying to get a deer, I can almost assure you that he will not have one but he sure has fun trying to get one. Ralph has a hurt leg so Rick has to take him to the vet this morning. We're not sure what it is but hopefully he'll be okay this afternoon.

I pulled several ornaments from the kiln this morning that I fired yesterday. They are so fun! Hopefully later I can get pics of them and get them on etsy.

guess that is about all. Have a fabulous day. :)

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Ahhh, Sunday, my least favorite day of the week. Rick is trying to get the kids in the car for Sunday school. Joe and I went to church last night, I just felt like we needed to go and I'm glad we did. Today, we have football for both boys and Kate has lacrosse. It is a beautiful day so I should get a walk in sometime. Tonight is the POP girls night out but I'm afraid I might not make it. 7:30 is only 90 min. away from my bed time. haha. we'll see.

Have a great day!

Isn't He Precious???
I totally forgot to mention in my first post of the day that Rick and Jack are in Athens for the Georgia game! Right now, I have to house to myself, just me and Ralph and Smokes (cat) It is really nice.
Hi Guys! Look, I'm being consistent with my blogging. I have really missed it so I'm going to try and be better about writing. Let's see. Yesterday was a little gloomy even though I didn't really mind it. We ended up going to the Hoover game at Vestavia. It was lots of fun and I got to sit with my friend, Cynthia. Valerie, we missed you! We had fun seeing people and it is always fun watching all the kids. Hoover started out a little shaky but ended up playing a great game! I've decided that it is more fun when a team isn't always sure they're going to win. The students were really into it and they didn't sit down the whole game, the cheerleaders looked like they were having fun and man, the pirate was really doing a great job! Anyway, Hoover has an undefeated season, way to go Bucs! Rush Propst even stopped by to see his old Bucs. Next week is the last home game so you know what that means! Tailgate at the met!! :)

We got home around ten. I was starving b/c I didn't eat before or at the game. I grabbed a snack and then checked all my things I check on line. facebook, my blog, etsy, drudge. ahh, Drudge. That put me in a sad mood. The whole election is just making me sad. I don't see what people see in Obama. I mean, really? Really? I understand that a lot of people are really done with the Bush administration. I get that. I've never said that I think that Obama is the anti christ. I pulled out my bible over the summer and read revelations, but you know. now, i'm not so sure. I've heard rumblings that the world is supposed to end in 2012, now who knows but it has something to do with the calendar, and that would be the number of years for a presidency and the anti christ is supposed to be in power for 42 mo. hmm, . Obama said at his NH rally yesterday after he and his people scrapped the national anthem and pledge of allegience b/c there wasn't time for it, really? how long does it take to sing the national anthem and say the pledge??? that He is going to change the world and when he was leaving on his bus he said he is "King of the world." What? That does not sound presidential. That just sounds silly. I'm sure if he is elected and you know, I'm not so sure he will be but if he is, I believe there is going to be a serious backlash. I've said it before, life will go on, homework has to be done, football will still be #1 in the south, my two's room will still be crazy, if Obama is president and not the king of the world, at least until 2012. ;)

Friday, October 17, 2008

My hope in this life is not with McCain or Obama, it is in the rightousness of Jesus Christ. Ultimately I will be with Him....but I still want President McCain....
Hi Everyone,

Okay, I know you're going to be shocked when I tell you this but I'm sort of enjoying the rain this morning. Yep. I don't know why but I am. It was dark when I woke up around 6:30 which is too late. Rick was up at 4:00 because today is opening day of bow season. I'm not sure he will have much luck with the rain but he is out in the woods anyway. I had to run Jack to the bus stop at the entrance this morning b/c he missed the bus at our stop. He has got to get it together! Joe made the bus and Kate over slept so I'm checking her in late. The kids get out at 1:30 and the high schoolers are on a shortened schedule b/c of a pep rally. tonight is a huge game against Vestavia. If it is still raining, we're not going but if it stops which I think it is supposed to stop, then, we'll go. Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it. I have plenty to keep me busy here. I'm so wanting to paint and just work in my office. The cross ornaments and the round ball ornaments came yesterday and I'm excited to see the new glazes on them. :)

inspriation hits at weird times

New things i've painted on old windows. Everyone needs a set of old windows to display.

I can't believe it has been a week since I last posted. Wow. Time flies when I'm running around like a crazy person. I actually have the day off today b/c Vonnie and I only have one baby this week. Two of our three are at the beach so we split the week. I've really enjoyed today and maybe that is why I feel like writing. I had to take Kate this morning b/c her ride is a senior and he didn't have to be there until later. She has a zero period which is super early. Rick is out of town and we had a late night last night with football. I let the boys sleep in while I ran to Hoover this morning. Joe called me while I was running into Publix to buy coffee and cream b/c I was out and I hate that! Anyway, he was like "mom where are you?" haha. I told him I let him sleep in this morning and I Would check him in later. The boys ate a good breakfast and got to school around 8:30. They didn't miss much. I came home and talked to karyn which I haven't done since her Rick got home and then I proceeded to have a coughing attack so I had to call her back. haha, that's probably too much information. Anyway, we talked while I painted the baby plates. I love it when I get to paint! I just got in from a nice little run and now I should go and do a little yoga. I think I could get used to this again but I do love my babies and I love working with Vonnie. We always have so much to talk about with our girls being so silly. Rick is in Orlando again this week but we found out that his Vegas trip is canceled next week. Yay! Not good news for getting the drug launched but since Rick has dubbed this month Helltober, we will be happy to have him home. He will get to see the boys last games before the play offs. Hoover plays Vestavia on Friday. HUGE game!!! I hope we win. If we do then Hoover will have been undefeated in the conference. Not bad for a new coach.

Okay, thought I'd blog about this for a min. Its nothing big but the past two nights I've had dreams that I'm in the ocean and there are big waves going over my head. I'm not drowning but the waves are big and a little scary. One night's waves were scarier than the others.I looked up what this might mean on line and found that an ocean dream with waves has to do with an emotional change. big waves represent a big emotional change. i wonder? hmmm. Am I changing? Maybe this election has me really contemeplating everything and I'm definitely more concrete on my beliefs. I always hated being so gray. I don't think I'm quite that way anymore.

anyway, I need to check my facebook b/c I'm totally addicted! Love to all. :)

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Hi! Okay, here I am, posting, posting, posting. :) Seriously, I've been running around like a crazy person, driving all three kids to all of their activities. I'm so happy they're all invloved but wow! Let's see. i guess the Cubs lost, I never even saw anything on tv about it. I'm sure I just wasn't watching the right shows to see it. That is so sad. I hate it when they're so close and just can't get r done. Rick and I went to an Alabama game on Sat. It was awesome! We had great seats, I think we were 15 rows back from the end zone. I told rick that when we get our little mini pack of season tix, I want to sit right there! I haven't watched any of the debates mostly b/c I haven't been home. I'm thinking that this country is going to have Obama as her president and it is very scary. I think that people will definitely be questioning why they voted him in. Oh well. It is out of my control, I am voting for MCCain and that is about all I can do. Fall has come to Hoover which is wonderful! We've had lots of fun going to all the football games from rec league here in Hoover to Hoover High to Alabama! Roll Tide!:))))

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

You know, it is nice to see somethings things are still the same, not everything is doom and gloom. The Chicago Cubs are rocking and rolling this fall and it's awesome to watch! Maybe they'll even be an all Chicago world series this year, can you even imagine what the city would be life if that happens. Living in the south, baseball usally takes a back seat once college football starts so I wasn't really hearing much about the MLB games. We are always so happy when the Cubs do well and represent Chicago even though I'm always very quick to tell people when they ask where I'm from, that I'm from Illinois but NOT CHICAGO! A lot of people think Chicago is Illinois and there are no other cities in the state. (totally annoying but i'm always there to inform them. ) Anyway, I'll have to make a Go Cubs! sign for the front yard!

On another note. Can I just tell you that I'm sooooooooooooooooooo over the liberal media? I mean, really? If I didn't know better, I'd think B.O. was the only one running for president. It makes me so mad that he gets sooo much press and Mccain is barely talked about. Ugh! It's like, McCain is in the back going, "wait, here I am , I have things to say too." as he is jumping up and down with his hand in the air.

HI! Well, we survived our first homecoming. It was really nice and I think everyone had a good time. The weather cooperated nicely and all the kids looked so nice. My house was clean and now it just has laundry everywhere. I'm trying to get caught up. I worked in the baby room today. Our three babies were there, sweet as can be! They are precious. tomorrow is Two's Tuesday. :) Love them too.

I over heard a child ask his father yesterday "who is michael jordan?" haha. his dad sort of chuckled and said, "aww, son he is just a golfer. " haha. he did say that but then he went on to tell him he used to be a really great basketball player. Isn't that funny that kids don't know who he is. I mean can you imagine? He is the best so far to play basketball and to think he was cut from the team in highschool.

Well, I need to continue with my laundry. I hope everyone has a great day on Tues. :)

HI! Homecoming was a success! all the girls look so pretty and the guys sure do clean up nice. Hoover won their game and we had the after party for Kate's group. Everyone had a great time and they were all super good. yay! Now life can get back to normal. Jack had a game this morning at 8:15. His team won too. Now, hopefully alabama will win. :) roll tide. Here are some pictures of last night.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

HI! Let's see. We had another busy day yesterday. My two's were great! Love them. I came home and fired some orders, worked around the house, took Kate tanning, shopped some more. Ugh! I think I'm done buying things for the house. My best baby buddy gave me two really fun old windows. I painted one for Halloween/fall. Kate had slight melt down yesterday afternoon. She was freaking out about everything being orange and black for homecoming. I reminded her that homecoming is about her school and football and such. She wants to order a cake but she doesn't want it orange and black. I mean, really I don't think a pink floral cake is appropriate for a hooover homecoming party. She did snap out of her freaky mood not long after it started thank god! On our way home from the store last night, Kate dropped off a fun filled bag of goodies on her date's front porch. She called him as we were driving down the street and told him to look on his porch. Haha, he was excited to get a fun present. She wrote on a card that she is excited for homecoming and good luck in the game! Too cute. We never did anything fun like that in highschool. I didn't forget to order Ryan's flower yesterday. Its just white but they only had four colors to choose from. His mom called and told me about Kate's corsage and it sounds sooo pretty. Funnnn!!

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Another busy day to tackle! It is so pretty outside. Funny thing, once we put the new air unit in, the weather broke and now it's nice and cool. It is really starting to feel like fall here. I had a great day with the babies yesterday. They are precious and so fun. I have to say, that I love being there, snuggling them and once the mommies come, I'm happy to hand them back and go home. We did lots of shopping last night for last min. homecoming things. We saw lots of girls at the mall buying nerdy glasses for nerd day, shoes and jewelry for homecoming. We got home around 8:30pm and I swear, it felt like midnight. I did get the orange lights on the front porch rails and I put the fairy (icicle) lights on the sun porch. Little by little, it is all coming together. Kate woke up this morning not feeling good. Ugh! I hope it isn't strep again. I guess if it is, she'll get the shot and then meds. WHY???? Jack doesn't have a game tonight which is so nice, it is on Sat. Joe has practice but Rick is here so he can take him. I still have to order Ryan's flower! Ugh! I keep forgetting.

candles, pumpkins, orange and black!

HI. This will be a quick posting. Yesterday was busy busy starting with early Sunday school for all the kids. I'm so happy that Kate loves her class this year. I think they are going to talk about really relevant issues for 14/15 year olds. The boys like their classes too. Jack and Joe had football and kate went to a lacrosse clinic yesterday. She is super excited about this sport and can't wait to really get going with it.

The pics I'm posting are a little fall preview of the decorations for homecoming which is Friday night. I will of course take lots of pics on Friday but I'm starting to get things out and it is so fun with Hoover's colors being blk/orange b/c it just goes with the fall season.

Today, I'm in the baby room, love all my babies!!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

HI! It's Saturday evening and we are watching our second SEC game today. Well, I didn't actually watch the Alabama game b/c it was on at 11:30am. I just can't do those games. I was at the store while the game was on. I was buying lots of decorations for the homecoming party.

Jack stayed the night at a friends and so did kate. They will both be home soon.

I got a run in today which was so great!

I was reading about how some people are still undecided on who they will vote for. I just don't know how you can be undecided. Speaking of which, I put my new McCain/Palin sticker on my car. I retired the W sticker to the garage wall. The republican ticket is the only way to vote. Keep the country safe and non socialistic. We are not a socialist country!

Night.

hi. had a great day in baby room today. love those babies!! they're so sweet. still hot in the house even though it has cooled off outside. the air guys will be here in the morning. yay!!!! i was poking around the news sites today and i came across this cemetery from orange county texas. what will they do with all these caskets. weird.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

had fun at the tailgate this afternoon. kate, maddie and ryan ended up finding friends that had extra tickets so they got to stay and go to the game. here are some pictures. can i just tell you that my house is sooooooooooooo hot! ugh! i'm annoyed!
hi. we are getting ready to go to tuscaloosa to tailgate with friends. it is going to be hot today but since our air conditioning is out on our main level, we'll be hot if we stay in our out. i'd rather be out with people. we went to the hoover game last night and had lots of fun seeing friends. we had tons of fun tailgating with the cos family, haha we ended up setting up our tailgate spot in a very shady spot which was so great it just so happened to be the same spot where the seniors set up their tailgating spot. lol. we didn't mean to but it was fun b/c someone had a really great sound system and they were playing fun music which we got to enjoy too. i could seriously, get there around 3:30 and just hang out with friends til the game. an hour isn't long enough. we always have so much to chat about. hoover totally lost, they looked horrible. we are so used to winning and this just isn't fun. :( the team that came over to play us has a really great record, i think they are like 57-0. oh well, it was still fun seeing everyone. two weeks til homecoming. lots to look forward to. have a great day.

Friday, September 12, 2008

Hoover is playing a team from Camden County Georgia tonight. Those people are doing some serious traveling. I think it is a seven hour drive. yikes!
HI! It's Friday. Friday is my favorite day of the week. I don't have to work, we get to tailgate tonight and see lots of friends at the Hoover game. Joe had his first real football game last night. His team looked better than I thought they would even though they lost 9-0. Joe did do good and he recovered a fumble so he was happy. He finally lost his front tooth last night. It has been loose for a year.

I am going to work around the house and try to get some things done.

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Hi! I tried posting yesterday but for some reason, it didn't post. Anyway, I had a great day in the baby room yesterday. We still only have three babies but they are so fun and sooooo good. I love them! This is the age where you can just sit on the floor with them and hand them a different toy every few min. and they're happy. I love that. I'm not working today b/c kate has a dr. apt. Just a check up but this is the only day we could do it.

last night Kate and I did some homecoming preparations. We had to find a piece of lace to have sewn in to her dress so it covers cleavage. We met with my friend, Candice who sews way better than me and she is going to take the straps up and sew the lace in. i can't wait to see it when its finished.

tonight, joe has his first real football game. i think coach has him at line backer. lol. what in the world. this is sort of a weird year for football b/c the kids are all still learning and joe's league combines 3rd/4th grade and i really don't think they should do that b/c there is a big difference between those two grades. anyway, that is the way it is tonight so we'll be there cheering on the sophomore packers!

jack had a great game the other night. his team won and he had some good tackles.

kate is all signed up for lacrosse. i know she is excited to get out there and learn the game.

hmmm, guess that is about all for now. i'm loving the mccain/palin ticket. love the eneregy that is back in the republican ticket!

have a great day.

Monday, September 8, 2008

HI everyone!

its been sooo long since i've posted anything on here. i'm a little spoiled with facebook now but i still want to write on this blog. the weekend was great. no drama! whoo hoo. we went to the hoover game friday night. hoover fans rock. we totally filled the visitor section of the stadium. it was hot and humid and sort of sprinkly at the end but it was fun to see people and to see the bucs win. saturday, we went to tuscaloosa to tailgate with friends. how fun! it was awesome. we are going over to hang out with them before every home game. their tent is right by the side walk in or on, the quad. it was fun to watch the students walk over to the stadium. we left about an hour before the game started so we could get home and order pizzas and watch it with our friends up the street. sunday, was busy. kate and i went shopping for a new homecoming dress. we found one, it is adorable. we returned the other one. the boys had football so i ran kate home, and ran back to get joe from practice. the house is a mess but oh well. we had a fun weekend. vonnie and i had two babies today. one of our babies is out of town so we just had two. they are so sweet. we did decorate our bulletine board for fall which was fun. tonight jack has football. thats about it. crazy crazy!

how about the mccain/palin ticket? love it!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Hi!

had a great day at preschool today. Love our babies, they are sooo sweet. just got home from football an hour ago, am so tired. off to bed.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Hi! Had a great first day of preschool. I love my kids, they are going to be really fun. No one cried. Everyone ate their snack and lunch and played outside really well. Most everyone sat in circle which is great for the first day. This is always a tiring day b/c we are all learning about each other.

I came home and took a power nap so I'd be able to function tonight. Joe is at football. Tomorrow is Jack's jamboree and thurs. is joe's. I just got in from my walk, I'm really enjoying getting out and walking again even though I think I pulled a muscle in my leg.
Hi! Today is the first day of preschool. Yay! I'm looking forward to see my kids and to getting this week under our belt. It is always the hardest. I'm sure I'll have some crying two's today but I think they'll be okay. will let you know.

We had a nice weekend. I usually get a little twitchy on long weekends. You know, I love having my schedule back. We are not experiencing anything more than some wind from Gustav. I think it is going west which is fine with me. You know, I don't like the rain.

Joe and Jack both have football jamborees this week. Yay! They are excited. I told Joe I'd pay him .50 for every tackle he makes.

Have a great day.

Sunday, August 31, 2008

Hi. here are some pictures from the lake yesterday. joe went tubing for the first time. we had a beautiful day and came home last night worn out!

Friday, August 29, 2008

I think I like this match.

This is the dress we bought yesterday for 70s day. Normally, I wouldn't buy a new dress just for a dress up day at school but.... i accidentally threw away one of kate's maxi dresses last week when I cleaned her room so I sort of felt bad and anyway, this one is way cuter and I can wear it too!

homecoming dress
Hey Everyone!

I've been so bad about posting lately. Please don't give up on me. This time last week, I was dealing with major drama. I'm happy to report that the dust has settled and all is well at our home at least as I'm typing this.

Yesterday was meet the teacher for my two's parents and children. I'm going to have a great class. I'm so excited! four girls and two boys. I like this set up b/c the year I had four boys and two girls, it was horrible. I'd much rather deal with all the girl drama and bossiness than the boys being crazy wild. My room looks so cute and I've set up all my fav. books and I'm copying cds now so I'll have my own music. rick is buying me a new camera so I will be able to take pics. My awesome little sony snap shot was ruined a couple of weeks ago due to a coffee spill in my bag. oops. :( Anyway, I've become so used to having a camera at my fingertips that I'm sort of going through withdrawls.

I'm so glad I have my little preschool job. I know it isn't a new job for me but I think this year, I'm looking at it from a different perspective. It is really a good thing for me to get away from my house, my computer and the drama that is contained there. lol. If I didn't have any where else to go and put my energy into, I think I'd go crazy.

With that being said, not sure if I told you but Kate has a date to homecoming. His name is Ryan and he is a sophomore. Her dress is so pretty and perfect for her figure. I think her group is going to be a lot of fun. The way homecoming works here is the kids all come to the game after their dinners. It is so fun for the moms to see the kids esp. the girls in their dresses. Kate was saying last night that she and her friend Maddie don't want to come to the game b/c they will get all sweaty and yucky. I was freaking out, I told her she had to go to the game, we'd just give her botox so she won't sweat. okay, just kidding on the botox but seriously, that is the fun part for the parents, other wise we don't get to see anything. She informed me that they only stay at the dance for 10 min for pics and then they're off to the after party. lol. Like I never went to homecoming.

Tonight is the first Hoover home game. It is nice outside so I think we are going tailgate with friends and have dinner there so we will be there and we can socialize. With Jack being in the middle school, he'll have new friends to see. Joe will probably hook up with his baseball buddies from the other schools along with his buds from his school. All the little boys play football on the hill, its cute.

Guess that is about all. I'm not talking about the DNC. I'm just glad its over and I don't like any of them. Whats up with Oprah crying her eyelashes off? Seriously. get a grip woman.

Gotta Run

love ya.

HI! I'm posting now. Let's see. I had a fun day. I was up early with the kids this morning. Everyone got to school on time thank goodness! I was at the preschool around 9 to meet my babies and their parents. We only have 4 right now but I'm sure it will fill up soon. I think our babies are going to be so great. I worked in my two's room for a bit today and I'm so excited to meet them tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to this year. For some reason, I just need to be working and not home worrying about everything. I've been painting a little bit and I have a cross order to finish. Shawn, I will refire Josh's mug very very soon! I'm sorry I'm so delinquint. The boys football have been canceled due to the fields being flooded. I think we have practice tomorrow. I know Jack will be happy to be out there being the best defensive end! Sounds like a lot of kids have been asked to homecoming so that is sooo fun. Kate's dress is so pretty. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Friday night is our first home game. We are planning on tailgating with friends before hand. Yay! Go Bucs. :) Alabama plays Clemson on Sat. We'll be at the lake but we'll have it on singing Roll Tide Roll! I'll let you know how my two's are. :) Night.

HI! Well, just to let my friends who are not local that it has been raining torentially all day and most of the weekend. I was so happy to have some where to go this morning. I had to be at preschool for our cpr and first aid class. It was fun seeing the girls there, I definitely missed the girls who aren't returning. It just wasn't the same in the hall with out them. I do think Kara is going to be a wonderful director and my room is going to be fun! Tomorrow, I'm going to decorate my door and set the books up and all the fun stuff. Wed. I will be in the baby room meeting our babies and the parents. Thurs is my day to meet my two year olds. I'm so ready to get back to work. :)

Well, Hoover is hopping with homecoming dress shopping and boys asking girls to homecoming and boys wanting to ask girls but mama's saying they can't ask the girl. haha. Oh my goodness it has been quite an experience with homecoming. My skin is a little thicker these days which is probably good thing. I must say that I am sort of ready for it to be here and be done. I know that is just horrible to say but I can't take any more drama. Kate and I found a really pretty dress yesterday. We ended up buying it b/c it is perfect on her and she has a tricky little figure. She can't just walk into anything. Anyway, it is perfect and she officially has a date. let me just tell ya, its been crazy!

Tonight is the start of DNC. I don't know if I'll tune in. Maybe, maybe not. Probably not. I'm so over looking at Michelle Obama's face I don't think I can see it anymore.

I hope you have a great night and it isn't raining where you are. :)

Hi Everyone

I know I've been out of commission the past couple of days within the blog world. Its been a little crazy around here but I think everything is okay at least for this moment. Kate had sort of a rough week, she wasn't feeling very well and then there were boy issues along with mama drama and I am seriously wondering if I will survive her highschool years. God new what he was doing when he gave Rick and I two boys after Kate. Jack is enjoying 6th grade, his new medicine is wonderful and helping him focus and not be so scatter brained. He has made several new friends from school so his social schedule has picked up a little bit. Rick has been working on his lease getting it ready for deer season. He is a little disappointed b/c he doesn't think he has many bucks on there. Football season kicks off one week from today. Yay! Can't wait!! Rick and I are going to dinner tonight with friends of ours. I'm looking forward to a nice evening out. :)Its rainy here, I think we're getting a little bit of Fay. The weather people are saying that some parts of Alabama are going to get up to 10" of rain. All the rain definitely helps with the drought situation. Have a great weekend.

HI! Just got in from my walk, I was thinking that I really like walking around 9am but in a couple of weeks that is going to change b/c of preschool. I'm either going to have to get up super early and walk or do it when i get home. I'm not so great at super early b/c it is usually dark and i don't like walking by myself in the dark.

We've been busy around here with football and other various activities. I think Kate's boyfriend is going to ask her to homecoming soon. He was sooooooo sweet this morning. He asked me if it is okay if he asks her to homecoming. How sweet is that???? I'm such a romantic , i'm happy to see that chivalry still exits.. There is just something so sweet about southern boys and how respectful they are to moms. :) Awww. Anyway, I will for sure let you know when it is official. How fun to pick out a dress and shoes and everything!

MCCain.

On taxes, Obama waxed political: "What I'm trying to do is create a sense of balance and fairness in our tax code." McCain showed an understanding of what drives a free economy: "I don't want to take any money from the rich. I want everybody to get rich. I don't believe in class warfare or redistribution of the wealth."

To any honest observer, the differences between John McCain and Barack Obama have been evident all along. What we saw last weekend was Obama's shallowness juxtaposed with McCain's depth, the product of his extraordinary life experience.

It may not have been a debate, but it was one of the most lopsided political contests in memory. No wonder Obama wants to keep debate formats boring and predictable.

Long Story Short: I'm not predjudice against immigrints, I get angry when they don't follow the rules, thats all. I don't care what color, religiion or race they are just follow the rules, our rules, the rules that we all have to follow.

Okay, enough about that. Let's see. Hmm, kids are off to school, albeit the boys were a little sleepy and a lot sore but they're at school. Kate got up great and even took brownies she baked for some friends.Rick is on his way to Athens to ride with a rep there and I need to get outside and walk. It is really nice this morning but I'm sure it will get hot. I got up around 5am and did about a half an hour of yoga and wow was I not having a good session. My neck is really hurting and I'm just tight. :( i guess that means i need to get up and do it more often.

Jack has football tonight, Joe doesn't but he has it tomorrow night. I know that I could never coach football let a lone 3rd graders playing football. 1. their attention span is very short. 2. i don't think they can hear with their helmets on. 3. they really don't know what to do and if they are supposed to tackle some stranger, someone who isn't their brother, they really don't want to. I guess they have to start somewhere but wow, Joe's coach really should be getting paid for his time.

Have a great day!

Just thinking:

In last night's homily, Fr. MCD compared the predjudice views the disciples held against the cannanite woman to the predjudice views that we have toward the hispanics today in our city, state and country. I am not predjucide against someone because of race, religion, or beliefs. I might not always agree with their views but I think everyone should be allowed to have the same opportunities for which they can go after and acheieve great things. This is where I have issues. Don't break the rules. All I ask of the hispanics or anyone else that comes in to our wonderful country, go through the hoops, be legal, pay your taxes, don't be a drain. I don't think Jesus wanted peole to not live honestly and living here and working here under someone else's ss # is not living honestly. That my friend is not being predjudice, it is being fair. I know that Fr. MCD leans way to the left when it comes to issues and I usually enjoy his homilies but I thought last night's was just a little too vauge. I wanted to raise my hand and say, okay, why can't they just do it right. It's not fair to the rest of us who have to pick up the slack b/c they live under the radar. I just feel so strongly about this issue.
Hi! Okay, I haven't blogged in a while. Since school has started, we've been busy. I thought maybe we would get to the pool this weekend but we didn't make it. Jack and Joe both had football yesterday morning, I went to a trade market type flea market with my friend Jill. I helped her find some fun things for her b&b. We did go to church last night which was so nice b/c we got to sleep in this morning and just hang out. Kate is feeling better. We told her she could have one night this weekend to do something but thats it as she just gets too run down. She picked Friday night. We went to our neighbors, Randy and Donna's for cocktails on their back porch and ended up staying and watching Michael Phelp's amazingly close race. He is just awesome! Wow! I'm so glad that he got all of his 8 gold medals. Yay Michael. I love seeing how happy his family is for him. I would be the same way if it were my sister or brother. Joe had practice yesterday in full pads. He loves it. He feels totally awesome and big in his football gear. He and Jack have practice this afternoon. I love keeping them busy. Friday I helped with the 6th grade social. It was really fun to see all the kids. They look sooooo young. To think, Kate was just there 3 years ago in 6th grade. Kate is enjoying high school. There is never a dull moment around here. I'm hearing some rumblings about homecoming. We have about 5 weeks til the game/dance. When do boys start asking? Maybe 3 weeks? I don't remember. The thought of finding a dress is a little daunting. I just wore a skirt and sweater but to think that it will still be 95 degrees still, i'm not sure what they girls wear. It is definitely dressier than my homecoming.Valerie!! Remember last year, we were at the game saying that our girls would be there next year. Well, here we are. Crazy

I have to shower so I can go outside and sweat at football. :)

bye

Hello. Just got in from a little jog and i thought i was going to die by the time i was finished. i think i should have gone this morning. note to self, jog earlier than 1:00pm in August. :) I am very proud of myself b/c I've actually gotten a lot of cleaning done this week. It is so nice having the house clean again. Kate is feeling better even though she is tired when she gets home, she can rest. Okay, this was so cool last night. She was working on her Spanish homework and her teacher is HORRIBLE! I mean he really is, he has a terrible reputation but oh well, she is in there and she'll have to make it. He gave them their homework yesterday which was to learn 30 spanish terms for a quiz today. He told them to go to the text book's website as it is interactive and it will help them learn it. Ha, how nice that we are paying him to tell our kids to go to the internet to learn what he is supposed to be teaching. anyway, she did and it was pretty neat how she clicked on the term and it said it to her so she could hear it. The kids have so many neat tools right at their finger tips.

Jack had football last night. He did not make weight so he will be on the line. His coach told us on Sunday if could get down to 105 he wouldn't have to play on the line and they might be eligible for another player. Well, okay, it is a little difficult to lose four pounds in 2 days for a regular person let a lone an eleven year old hungry boy! He did lose a pound but it wasn't enough. Oh well. I told him next year would probably be differnt. He won't be the biggest boy in the end. He still has that cute little baby fat on him.

Joe has football tonight, full pads. He soooooooo excited! rick won't be home from Atlanta until later on this evening so I will haul us over there. I love watching them play so I really don't mind. Joe is sort of the opposite of Jack. He is such a light weight, I'm sure the coach isn't sure what to do with him. I'll let you know though.

I am off to shower as I'm so yucky from my jog.

Later.

What word comes to mind when I think of the Chinese. SHADY! Yep, shady, shady, shady. I mean really. I don't believe the pollution is at safe levels for people to breath, I don't believe they've stopped using lead paint, and I certainly don't believe their gymnasts are all of competing age. Did the Americans screw up, yep, they did. Should the Chinese use gymnasts who under the age to compete, nope, they shouldn't. They're just shady characters. Just do it right! Play fair dammit! And the world gets mad at America. Ugh! so annoying.

While the Chinese team celebrated, Martha Karolyi, the U.S. national team coordinator, continued to question the ages of some of China's gymnasts. Concerns over eligibility on the six-member team surfaced before the Olympics and have continued all week.

"One of the girls has a missing tooth," Karolyi said, suggesting that the gymnast was so young that she lost a baby tooth and had yet to have a permanent one emerge.

The grin of Deng Linlin, a Chinese gymnast who is listed as 16, indeed revealed a wide gap. To be eligible for the Olympics, gymnasts must turn 16 this year. "I have no proof, so I can't make an affirmation," Karolyi said.

China's coach, Lu Shanzhen, bristled when the age issue arose again on the day his gymnasts had upset the Americans, the reigning world champions. He would not explain Deng's missing tooth.

"It's unfair that people keep saying the Chinese are too young to compete," Lu said in Mandarin on his way out of the National Indoor Stadium. "If they think they can tell someone's age just by looking at them, well, if you look at the foreign athletes, they have so much more muscles than the Chinese. They are so strong. Do you then say that they are doping?"

Half of the team - He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Jiang Yuyuan - is under age if online sports registration lists in China are correct. The international gymnastics federation, however, said those gymnasts were eligible and that the ages on their passports were correct.

Hi! Can I just tell you it rained and rained and rained yesterday even last night! It is so soggy outside but very green and sort of jungly. I really need to work in my garden by my deck but the grass is sort of tall and I'm a little worried about snakes being in there. i think i'll just wait til it frosts and work on it in the winter.

We watched more of the olympics last night. Man is Michael Phelps amazing or what? Wow! He is awesome. Rick and I let the boys stay up and watch him swim last night. I think its worth it for them to see special things during the Olympics.

Kate is back to school. She asked this morning if she can go to youth group tonight. What is wrong with her? Seriously! NO, she can't go. The dr. told her go to school, come home, rest, do your homework and go to bed!

I need to get out and walk this morning!! I'm posting a picture of Jack and his friends studying on the back porch yesterday. He organized the study session himself!

Hi! Okay, it has been raining all day long! It really feels more like a fallish day instead of an August day. You know how I like it hot and sunny but I know a lot of you are enjoying this rain and of course it is soooo good for our drought issues. I did get my hair done today but not before taking Kate back to the dr. this morning. She is sick with strep. Can you even believe it? I mean, its not like she was locked in a air tight no germs room all summer long. She was with her friends all the time, different friends all the time at the beach, the lake, their houses, the pool. Why does she get sick two days into school? I know a lot of kids are home with mono or strep or something! Since she went to the dr. so early this morning, she will be able to go to school tomorrow. Thank goodness, but how cool is this? She has a web site she can go to for her biology homeowrk. Isn't that awesome? No excuses not to have her work done! I love my hair. It was looking so brassy and just yucky that I was anxious to get it done. Alicia, my girl, did a great job. She did fun highlights a long with low lights. It looks great! I tried taking pictures of it but I didn't like them so of course, I deleted them, you'll have to see it in person. :)

Let's see. Joe is so excited about football. Rick just took him out to get his cleets and practice jerseys. I swear he wants to sleep with his new pads and helemt on. He seems to be enjoying his new teacher and the same goes for Jack.

Umm, I guess that is about all for now. Later Gaters.
