HI

Hi Friends. I've tried to post a new post for two days! It seems either my computer is running slow or one of my prescious gifts has logged me off! Thankfully, school starts next week! We still haven't recieved teacher letters, everyone is anxiously awaiting their arrival into our mail boxes!! It is hot hot hot here! Summer has finally arrived, just in time for school to start. I think that this time of year is comparable to "up north's" cold cold cold. We can't really be outside too long, it's just too icky out there. It's a good thing that the kids will be in air conditioning all day long at school and they're doing something productive while they're there. We went to the pool yesterday. It was fun hanging out with friends and seeing people we haven't seen in a couple of weeks due to everyone leaving for their summer vacations. Kate started her summer reading which is due next Thurs. I was very proud of her for taking the books to the pool and actually reading them. She said she felt like a nerd but I assured her it was okay. That's about it. I'm going to post this thing while I'm sitting here. I hope you're all doing okay. Please say a prayer for a family member who was involved in an accident yesterday. Hopefully, he will make a full recovery. Thanks.

shopping!

Went shopping this afternoon with kate. We found very fun things at the Buckle, some for her and some for me. Next week, we'll do more back to school shopping. Jack really needs new things. Joe always set. He gets Jack's hand me downs which he loves..

Sunday

Good morning! Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! We've been busy around here. Haven't seen much of Kate, she has been enjoying the last few days of summer break. The boys spent the night up the street, they ended up staying over after we celebrated our friend's daughters first birthday. I love that age! She is so sweet and fun. It is neat to watch her try new things. I'm always amazed at in the first year, babies are so teeny and then 12 mo later, they're trying to walk, they start to show more of their personality. Anyway, we enjoyed being at the party, i have to say, I enjoyed having it be someone else's childs first birthday party. I remember having the kids parties and even though I loved it, I'm having fun being a guest. Kate has her dance team camp this week and the teacher letters should come tomorrow for the boys! yeah! I'm sure I'll have something else to say later, right now, it's early and I'm contimplating crawling back in bed. ;) I shouldn't though,i should fold the laundry, run the dishwasher, clean my office. I think I'm crawling back in bed.

It's embarrassing

Hi,

I'm just going to mention this once on here. I love our Hoover Bucs! Love the tradition and spirit all of our children have for Hoover Schools but the article in the paper today is absolutely embarrassing. I can only hope for my children and my friends children that something positive happens in light of all the issues going on at the school.

New hair cut!

After

Ralphie had his spa day yesterday and he looks so much better and more comfortable and he smells better too.
Before

So Cool!

I would have loved a pair of these when I was Joe's age! They're really fun. We do need to buy him a new helemet because he just came in crying because he fell and bumped his head. He'll get it!

End of an Era

Just saw on our local news that a police officer from Birmingham is retiring after 40 years with the police department. The amazing fact in this ordinary occasion is he is the officer who finger printed Dr. Martin Luther King when he was arrested. Living in the south today, we often forget the turbulent time that endured here. We go about our blessed lives and we don't really give it much thought. Seeing this officer being interviewed this evening has really made me think what an interesting and wonderful place the south is. Thankfully , today we are able to have friends from all over the world!

Hoorah for Hoover!! Hoorah for Hoover!

Okay, I needed some fun art for my basement. i'm sick of it being a hodge podge of kids crapola so I'm making it a cute place with kids crapola!! haha. I painted these this afternoon. The shop only had 2 canvases so I have to do Joe's. I think i'll make him a baseball player. I am happy with them. Just wanted to share them with you.
Go Bucs!
ps. I tried to make Jack's hair look like Hoover hair but I think it sort of looks like an alien. I will have to work on that later. ;)

Mix up with the bags

Hello,

Just got an email from the dance team coach and it looks like Kate picked up the wrong bag yesterday. Hmm, I didn't think I ordered a new bag, why would she need two duffles exactly the same for dance team? I think there are two Kate's this year on the team. Last names required.:)

football

Football has started here. It may have started other places around the country but there was a big game at one of the middle schools yesterday, that kate HAD to go to . Jack has recieved his roster for his team, they're the Panthers. He is playing rec league not the competitive league so they have nfl names which is fun. It's a little crazy here in this part of the world. There is a competitive league for boys starting in first grade and goes through maybe 6th grade. Its a big deal, practice every night, games i think on sat. morning. The rec league isn't quite as serious but i think we still practice 3 x a week and games on tues or thurs. i think that's enough! Kate is very excited because she recieved all her dance team stuff yesterday at registration. She came out with a new duffle, I don't remember ordering that but I guess I did, new shoes, don't remember that but I guess I did and a new hoodie. HMM, i really don't remember that but maybe it came together. I don't know. Her camp outfits are very cute and this year their bows for their hair are darling. We're thinking it's time to get going with school. rumor has it, the teacher letters for the elementary kids are going out today and tomorrow. The phone will start ringing like crazy! yeah! I hope we get who we want.

Friday!

Hi, It's Friday and I'm not sure why that makes me happy because the weekend doesn't really mean anything different for me especially in the summer. I think we have a couple of birthday parties on the calendar which is fun for the kids. Ralph is at the groomers, he soooooo needs a bath and a hair cut! He hates going but I know it makes him feel better, I know I love going to the spa for the day. Tomorrow, I'm going to get my hair and brows shaped. Ahh, Love it!

Hope y'all have a fantabulous day!

Love ya,

Hi, Tomorrow, Ralphie has a spa day, lucky Ralph. he really needs it. poor rallie can't even see! I'll be sure to take pics.

i just have one question, WHY?

Okay, here's the deal. Last May, at the end of the year, parents had the option of purchasing through the school a bundled pack of school supplies for the next year. Yeah! I was all about that, I did it in Indianapolis and it was wonderful. I sent a check for $70.00 with my very responsible daughter. All she had to do was give it to her home room teacher and then we'd be set for the next year! Whoo hoo, no school supply shopping for me at least for kate's things. Today was registration at her school, always very fun. We get to see friends, and she can see who is on her hall and in her homeroom. I told her to go to room 109 and pick up her bundled pack of supplies. I met up with her in the cafeteria where I was happily writing out my 150.00 check for her fees. I asked her where her supplies were and she handed me a pretty pink sheet containing the list of things for 8th graders. Kate never turned her check in so that means I have to go shopping for her supplies! UGh! Seriously. What in the world.. Next year, she'll be in high school so I'm not sure how all that works, but you can bet that I'll be walking Jack's supply list in myself and handing it to our wonderful school secretary. ;)

Elena and Joe. "the gang" so cute.

Hi Friends! How are you? I didn't post yesterday, I just didn't feel like it and there wasn't much going on. The kids are bored out of their minds! We are ready for school to start! Jack loved football camp! He was walking a little funny due to very sore legs!! Kate has been babysitting a lot lately which is great. She can always use the extra cash. I'm posting pictures that I took recently. I think Joe is looking so much older. He still hasn't lost a tooth yet but the one on the bottom is getting looser. have a great day! Joe has some major hoover hair going on. he loves it!

Jack after his 2nd day of football camp

I think today just about did Jack in. He could barely walk when he woke up this morning to get ready for camp. He went to camp, loved it, then we went to the pool for a while. This is Jack at 6:15pm. i love it!

HI

Hello, I was apparently mistaken on the days that the football camp is being held. Looks like Jack has camp today and tomorrow and he isn't moving too fast this morning. have no idea what in the world we're doing other than that today. I know, I'm sleepy and I want to go back to bed. ;)

Have a terrific Tues.

Jack made it!

Yeah Jack. He had a great time at his first day of football camp! I got there a little early so I got to watch and I was thinking that I probably looked like one of those dad's from two a days even though I'm a mom watching the practices. Haha. I have to tell you, it was the sweetest thing. Jack looked up and saw me on the hill watching him and he smiled and waved. Love that! Boys really do love their mama's. Anyway, the high school is hopping, the band was there practicing, the dance team was practicing, there were two camps there, one for the elementary kids and one for the middle schoolers. Kate thought it was great seeing the guys in her class out there practicing. They all had a beautiful morning, nice and cool to start the week off with. yeah! Jack was smiling when we were leaving, and he even had enough energy to set up a time for one of his buddies to come over. Now, tomorrow, might be a different story, I think he's gonna hurt. He doesn't go back til Wed. I wonder if they do that on purpose.

quote of the day

Once again, I'm pulling little quotes from Please Don't Kiss Me at the Bus Stop. I love this book!

This is a typical night at our house.

~They change the subject in the middle They both do. Mom'll be talking about fixing up the yard and Dad will ask what everyone wants for dessert. Then Mom'll say he needs to get a haircut and he'll comment on why the white sox lost. Without a pause, Mom'll say she ran into our old neighbor at the cleaners. There's no way to follow a converstaion. Well, there is no conversation.

'Morning

Hello,

Yes, I'm up bright and early. It's hard to sleep with children in my room as Rick is out of town and no one but me can seem to find their own bed. Anyway, Jack has the big football camp this morning and we have to be there a little early because he isn't registered yet. I'm not quite sure what we're supposed to bring to camp, if I have to run to academy and buy things, then i will but I'm hoping I don't. I really don't know what we're doing today other than replacing Kate's broken bracket off her tooth, taking Jack to football camp and then tonight taking kate to dance class. Maybe some where in there, we'll get to the pool. That would be nice as those days are coming to an end even though the hot weather is probably just beginning, we won't have time once school starts to lounge. I hope y'all have a fabulous day!!

Love,

Me;)

Gotta Love Them

New Kickers for Joe!

Sunday

Hi, well, today was spent preparing for the kids going back to school. I worked this morning up stairs in my office, painted several new things which was very fun. The boys and I picked Kate up at her friends house, today, on the other side of the world! Ugh! Since we had to go all the way over to 280, we just did our shopping over there. We had fun at Target! That store, should be fined because it is a serious money pit. You go in thinking, just groceries and then bam! we have scrap booking stuff, a new book, boxers and football shorts, um oh and a candle. I didn't buy any alcohol because you can't buy it on that side of the river on Sunday. Oh, yea, and kate got a purse which she owes me $$$ for. I do love Target but I always spend too much moola there. Tomorrow, Jack has football camp at the high school. It's going to be a rude awaking for him, i think its going to be good. Kate has to have a bracket put back on her tooth. That girl has lost more brackets with her braces. I'm going to put the boys to bed. Sleep tight. Nighty night.

I mean really!!

I'm all for health care prevention, I really am but do we really need to know that W had five polyps removed? I mean, the mental picture of that is not pretty. Maybe they have to report on everything when it comes to the president but seriously. gross!

A different kind of quote

I thought I'd go through my cute book, "Please Don't Kiss Me at the Bus Stop!" With the focus being on children the next several weeks, months, years, these are appropirate. Enjoy!

Easy Dinners, yea, right

Hi,

Okay, here's the deal. I just googled, easy dinners and I found tons of fun sites that have monthly recipes that are supposed to be easy. I was so happy to see picturs of yummy dishes but then reality set in and I am now depressed because, I am the one who is supposed to make these easy dinners. Yuck. I really hate preparing and cooking dinners. It's such a big fat pain and then no one eats the easy dinners b/c they aren't pizza, mac and cheese or hot dogs. What gives? This is why I don't have a pantry filled with staples to prepare with. It's a waste of time and money! Honestly, what I really need to google is a cooking service, that would be a dream!

It's the Weekend!

Good morning! Looks like a beautiful hot Saturday. I'm firing pieces in the kiln and enjoying the quietness of my house right now. Jack and I are the only two home this morning. We even slept in until 9am. Love that. That is all going to change in 2.5 weeks when the school bus rolls up to our stop (not on Saturday of course but you get the point). I think today we'll try to go to the pool and swim a bit and I'm going to work a little this morning. I have some new ideas I want to try with the sewing machine. This post is so boring, I'm so sorry, I don't have much more to say.

Wishing you all a fab Sat!

Friday

Hi,

today was a fun day. my friend, valerie had the moms day out teachers over to her pool for a little lunch this afternoon. unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it but it was great seeing the girls who did. we are all ready for our own children to head back to school and we made a date to get together just ladies before we go back. the kids had fun too, our children are about the same ages so our get togethers work out nicely. i'm sleepy, kate is at a sleep over and joe is going to one soon. its just me and jack tonight. we're sleeping in tomorrow. have a great weekend!

wrap it up

Okay, it is Thurs. evening and it's 9pm. I know, I'm getting so old but I'm tired and I'm going to put jammies on and go to bed. We had a good day considering we are all ready for school to start. The kids are even ready for school to start. We registered today, the boys that is. Kate's registration is next week. Now that we are registered, we will eagerly await the teacher letters that will arrive the first of August. Yeah! Its a fun day when everyone gets their letters, the phone rings off the hook from friends asking, "who did you get?" Love it! I hope everyone has a wonderful night, and Shorty's, I hope you have a wonderful day since you are on the other side of the world.

Love,

Football

Okay, Jack got the call tonight and found out who his coach is this season. We don't know his coach but I'm sure he'll be great. Jack is so jazzed because there are two other friends on his team! We're looking forward to a fun season. Go Jack!!

Covered Bridge

Hi I got to visit a covered bridge today. It was built in 1930 and it was reinforced in 1974. People drive across it all the time but we did not drive across it today.. I was going to post a picture of me, jen and campbell but it was not good of any of us so I didn't. :(

I think this quote says it perfectly!

Hello!

Good morning! Not sure what this Wednesday is going to bring but I'm going out on a limb and predicting its going to bring good things! How's that for optimism?? Spent last night sewing several pillows together, I think they are really fun and I know that if I was back home and Webster Dexter was still open, Brenda would sell them in her store. Too bad I'm only 10 years too late. Oh well. I'm hauling all these wonderful pieces over to a shop down the road. Hopefully, the owner will fall in love and have to have them in her store. Haha, we'll see about that. Keep your fingers crossed or better yet, say a little prayer.

Have a great day.

Love ya!

New thinsgs

I've been having fun and thinking about fall! Yeah!!

Tuesday

Hello,

Just got in from a 3 mile walk this morning. My faithful walking buddy showed up on time (darn her) ;) just kidding. At least its over now and I can go on with my day. thought maybe we'd go to the pool today but looks like rain. We register for school in 2 days and start in 2.5 weeks! Yeah! So funny how I'm always so ready for school to be out but I'm right there first one at the bus stop on the first day.

Kate is mad at me b/c I won't let her go to a concert tomorrow. Someday she'll learn to be nice to me. Jack needs a hair cut and so does joe, ralph too for that matter.

Have a great day!
